Tanausis (Taunasis), König, der Scythen, soll einen Eroberungszug bis nach Ägypten gemacht u. den Sesostris, welcher sich in Asien ausgebreitet hatte, in sein Reich zurückgedrängt haben. T. ist im Allgemeinen einer der alten nordischen Eroberer.
