St Thymo, aus einem gräflichen Geschlecht; wurde in der Klosterschule zu Niederalteich erzogen, wo er zugleich sich in den bildenden Künsten übte; er wurde erst Abt zu St. Peter in Salzburg u. 1088–1101 Erzbischof daselbst, worauf er nach Admont, unweit Radstadt, u. später nach Palästina ging, wo er als Märtyrer starb. Er war auch als Bildhauer berühmt, in u. um Salzburg werden mehre Statuen als seine Werke gezeigt.
