Tisio, Benvenuto, genannt Garofalo, geb. 1481 in Ferrara, Schüler des Dom Panetti u. eines der Häupter der Schule von Ferrara. In Rom schloß er sich vornehmlich an Rafael an u. suchte sich dessen Styl anzueignen, bes. für Zeichnung u. Anordnung. Im Colorit ist er durch Kraft u. Harmonie der Farbe ausgezeichnet. Er st. 1559 in Ferrara.
