Ugocsa (spr. Ugotscha), seit 1860 Comitat im ungarischen Kreise jenseits der Theiß, zwischen den Comitaten Beregh, Marmaros u. Szathmar, 22 QM. mit 42,000 Ew., größtentheils Magyaren u. Katholischer Confession; ist sehr waldreich, wird von der Theiß, Thür u. Borsova bewässert u. bringt Wein, Getreide, Holz, Obst, Vieh; Hauptort ist Nagy-Szöllös. Es bildete früher mit Beregh zusammen ein gemeinschaftliches Comitat, s. Beregh 1).
