Ursacĭus

Ursacĭus, Bischof u. strenger Arianer im[295] 4. Jahrh., welcher bes. mit Valens auf dem zweiten Sirmischen Concil 357 das Wort führte, wo nach seinem Vorschlag durch das Verbot der Wörter οὐσία, ὁμοούσιος u. ὁμοιούσιος der Friede zwischen den Parteien hergestellt u. die Unterordnung des Sohnes unter den Vater anerkannt werden sollte. Dieser Vorschlag ging durch, aber bereits 358 mußte sich U. bequemen die semiarianische Homöusie anzuerkennen. Er u. Valens verhinderten dann ein allgemeines Concil, wurden aber auf dem Concil der abendländischen Bischöfe zu Rimini 359 von der Majorität der nikänisch Gesinnten abgesetzt.
