Zawisza (der Schwarze), polnischer Ritter, diente im Heere des deutschen Kaisers Sigismund, kehrte dann nach Polen zurück u. kämpfte unter Jagello 1410 gegen die Deutschen Ritter in der Schlacht bei Tannenberg, diente seinem König auch zu wichtigen Sendungen an das Concil zu Kostnitz u. nach England u. Frankreich, trat später wieder in die Dienste des Kaisers u. fiel 1420 im Türkenkriege.
