Makran

Makran, größte Provinz in Beludschistan (die Einwohner Makraner), am Indischen Ocean, zu großem Theile gebirgig, im Westen vom Buschkurd-, im Osten vom Brahugebirge begrenzt, in der Mitte von der Gedrosischen Wüstedurchzogen u. überhaupt dürr u. wenig bewässert, zumeist unfruchtbar u. auch sehr dürftig bevölkert, meist von Nomaden u. am besten im Gebirge. Eingetheilt ist die Provinz in viele kleine Districte, deren jeder unter einem eignen Oberhaupte steht; solche Districte sind: Kedsche (mit dem gleichnamigen Hauptorte, der zugleich Hauptstadt der Provinz ist), Kesserkend, Geh, Tschubar, Kuladsch, Pundschur, Kohek u.a.
