Annŭlus (lat.), 1) überhaupt Ring; so A. piscatorĭus (Fischerring), Siegelring des Papstes, s. Fischerring; A. pronubus, Verlobungs- od. Trauring; 2) (Anat.), A. abdominālis (A. inguinālis, A. orālis), der Bauchring, s.d.; A. irĭdis, Irisring, s. Auge; A. trachēae, Luftröhrenring, s. Luftröhre; A. umbilicālis, Nabelring, s. Nabel; 3) (Bot.), jeder ringartige Theil, wie z.B. die Jahresringe des Holzes; dann der Hautring, welcher den Strunk mancher Pilze, z.B. bei Agaricus procerus u. muscarius, umgibt; auch die doppelte Zellenreihe, welche sich an der Frucht der Moose, bei deren Reise zwischen dem Deckelchen u. der Büchse als ein Ring ablöst; ferner der Ring der Sporenbehälter (Annuli sporangiorum) bei den Algen (s. Kryptogamen); endlich der Haarring (A. pilorum). in der Blumenröhre mancher Labiaten, z.B. bei Marrubium u. Sideritis.
