Caballaria

Caballaria (Cavalleria, neulat.), in Frankreich u. Aragonien 1) (Caballarium feudum), eine Besitzung, auf welcher die Cabalcata, d.h. die Verbindlichkeit der Vasallen, dem Lehnsherrn Heeresfolge zu Pferde zu leisten, liegt, vgl. Klepperlehn; 2) die in Grundstücken etc. bestehende Vergütung eines Ritters; daher wahrscheinlich Caballarius (span. Caballeros), 1) Reiter, Ritter; 2) spanische Adliche, welche nach den Granden u. vor den Hidalgos kommen.
