Calathēa (C. W. Mey.), Pflanzengattung aus der Familie der Bananengewächse (Cannaceae) 1. Kl. 1. Ordn. L. Arten: zum Theil schön blühende Gewächse in SAmerika, z.B. C. Allonya in Westindien, grandifolia, villosa, violacea, zebrina u.a. in Brasilien.
