Cataraqui (Iroquois), Name des Lorenzstromes vor seinem Austritt aus dem Ontario bei Kingston bis nach Montreal; er bildet bei dem Austritt mehrere Seen, von denen der St. Louis u. St. Francis die größten sind, hat eine Menge kleiner Inseln (über 1600) u. äußerst schmales Fahrwasser, wodurch die Schifffahrt sehr erschwert wird; in dem oberen Lauf bildet er die Grenze zwischen der nordamerikanischen Union u. britisch Canada.
