Gelāti (Genati), Mönchskloster in Imerethien, (Transkaukasien) in der Nähe von Kutaiß, wurde im 12. Jahrh. von David II., König von Twerien u. Abchasien gegründet u. war früher Begräbnißplatz der Könige von Grusien u. von Twerien. Das Kloster enthält eine Bibliothek von Handschriften, wichtig für die Geschichte Grusiens, darunter die Briefe der Könige an das Kloster (Gudshary) u. die Bildnisse vieler Könige.
