Giustīno

Giustīno (spr. Dschustino), frühere venetianische Silbermünze, die lange allgemeine Berechnungsmünze war; Avers: der geflügelte Löwe mit dem aufgeschlagenen Buche, vor ihm der knieende Doge mit der Fahne; Revers: die Sta. Justina mit dem Dolch in der Brust u. dem Palmenzweige in der Rechten; à 11 Lire piccoli, 9,651 = eine feine Mark, 1 G. = 1 Thlr. 16 Sgr. 5 Pf. pr. Courant. Es gab 1/2 u. 1/4 im Verhältniß. Zuerst zum Andenken an einen Seesieg der Venetianer 1571 am Tage der Sta. Justina geprägt.
