Hemans (spr. Himäns), Felicia Dorothea, geb. Brown, geb. 1794 in Liverpool, wo ihr Vater, ein Irländer, Kaufmann war, lebte später in Nordwales, wo sie sich, geweckt von der romantischen Gegend u. von den Heldenthaten ihrer Landsleute in Spanien, der Poesie widmete; sie heirathete einen Offizier H., doch wurde später diese Ehe wieder getrennt u. sie st. 16. Mai 1835 auf dem Gute Redesdale bei Dublin. Sie schr.: Domestic affections, 1812; The restauration of the works of Art in Italy 1816; Modern Greece Tales and historic scenes in verses, 1819 (Balladen); Wallace u.
