Lineāl

Lineāl, ganz gerades, schmales u. dünnes Stück Holz, Messing, Kupfer od. Stahl, um damit gerade Linien zu ziehen; Größe u. Breite sind nach der verschiedenen Bestimmung verschieden. Sollen die Linien mit Tinte od. Farbe gezogen werden, so muß das L unten längs der langen Seite einen Falz haben, damit das beschmutzte L. nicht das Papier berühre u. die Linie selbst unrein werde. Bisweilen wird auf dem L. ein Maßstab angegeben.
