Perotti, Nicolas, geb. 1430 in Sassoferrato; war Anfangs Professor der Rhetorik u. Dichtkunst in Bologna, wurde 1452 kaiserlicher Rath, später päpstlicher Secretär u. Palastgraf vom Lateran in Rom, 1458 Erzbischof von Siponto od. Manfredonia, 1465 Statthalter von Umbrien u. 1474 Statthalter von Perusa; er st. 1480. Wegen der Beschuldigung, daß er Fabeln des Phädrus untergeschoben habe, s. Phädrus. Er schr.: Rudimenta gramatices, Rom 1473, Fol., u.ö.; Cornucopiae s. linguae lat. commentaria, Vened. 1489, Fol., u.ö.
