Thermae (v. gr.), 1) warme Bäder, s.u. Bad (Ant.); mehre einzelne nach ihren Erbauern od. Besitzern benannte Bäder zu Rom, z.B. Th. Constantini, Th. Titi et Vespasiani etc., s.u. Rom S. 247; 2) warme Quellen, daher Name mehrer Städte mit warmen Quellen, so: Th. Himerenses, Stadt in Sicilien, am Himera, wurde statt des zerstörten Himera 407 v. Chr. von den Carthagern angelegt u. mit Himerensern u. Afrikanern bevölkert; Augustus schickte eine Colonie (Col. Augusta Himeraeorum Thermit.) hierher; j. Termini; Th. Onesiae, s. Onesiä; Th. Selinuntiae, so v.w. Aquae Labodes; Th. Stygianae, so v.w. Aquae Apollinares; Th. Tauri, so v.w. Aquae Tauri.
