Anthracīn

Anthracīn: Anthracīn (Paranaphtalin), C¹⁰H₁₂, aus dem Steinkohlentheer durch fractionirte Destillation u. Abkühlung u. Digestion des sich ausscheidenden Gemenges von A. u. Naphthalin mit Alkohol, in welchem das A. unlöslich ist, dargestellt; es ist dem Raphthalin ähnlich, schmilzt aber bei 180° u. siedet über 300°; sublimirt schon unter dem Siedepunkt u. condensirt sich zu einer krystallinischen Masse; löst sich nicht in Wasser, wenig in Alkohol u. Äther, leicht in Terpentinöl.
