Clarion, 1) (Toby's-River), Fluß in Pennsylvanien, entspringt in der Grafschaft Mac Kean u. fällt nach einem Laufe von 30 Meilen in den Alleghany-River; 2) Grafschaft im Staate Pennsylvïnien (Verein. Staaten von Nordamerika), 28 QM.; Flüsse: Alleghany-River, Redbank-Creek (Grenzflüsse gegen SW. u. S.), Clarion-River; Boden hügelig u. ziemlich fruchtbar; Producte: Mais Weizen, Hafer, Viehzucht, schöne Waldungen mit Bauholz, Kohlen- u. Eisenminen; Dampfschifffahrt auf dem Alleghany-River; 25,000 Ew.; 3) Hauptstadt darin am Fluß C., Akademie, 3 Kirchen, 2 Zeitungen, 1840 angelegt; 3000 Ew.
