Ant.), 1) Stab, welchen griechische Kaiser, Kaiserinnen, auch Richter u. andere Magistrate führten od. vor sich hertragen ließen; 2) Stab des Patriarchen von Constantinopel, den er neben dem Hirtenstabe führt u. der oben mit 2 gegen einander gerichteten elfenbeinernen Schlangen u. mit 6 solchen Knöpfen der Länge herunter geschmückt; auch wohl von Silber u. vergoldet ist. Ihn empfängt der Patriarch bei seiner Einsetzung vom Sultan.
