Fort Wayne (spr. Fort Wehn), Hauptstadt der Grafschaft Allen im Staate Indiana (Nordamerika), am St. Josephs- u. St. Marys-River, Wabash-Erie-Kanal u. der Ohio-Indiana-Eisenbahn; 8 Kirchen, eine Bank, Landamt der Vereinigten Staaten, weibliche Akademie (Methodist female College); 7000 Ew. In der Nähe befand sich früher Twightwee village, eine Niederlassung der Miami. Indianer (die 1841 über den Mississippi gedrängt wurden); 1794 wurde hier von General Wayne das gleichnamige Fort errichtet, welches bis 1819 militärischer Posten blieb.
