Holston River; Boden theilweis gebirgig (Clinch Mountain) u. namentlich an den Flüssen sehr fruchtbar; Producte: Mais, Weizen, Hafer, Eisen; Dampfschifffahrt auf dem Holston River; die Tennessee-Virginia Eisenbahn durchschneidet die Grafschaft; 1850: 12,370 Ew., worunter 1035 Sklaven; Hauptstadt: Rutledge; 2) Städtischer Bezirk mit Postamt (Post-township) in der Grafschaft Alleghany des Staates New York; 1400 Ew.; 3) Städtischer Bezirk mit Postamt u. der Grafschaft Medina des Staates Ohio; 1400 Ew.
