Parenchȳma

Parenchȳma (gr.), 1) das Gewebe, woraus Drüsen u. Eingeweide, bes. dichte Substanz, wie Leber, Nieren, gebildet sind, in denen keine eigentliche muskulöse Bildung unterschieden wird. Daher Parenchymatös, von solcher Bildung; 2) die zwischen der Rinde u. dem Mark eines Stängels zwischen den beiden Lamellen eines Blattes, um u. zwischen dem Adernetz, zwischen der Epidermis u. der Samenhaut der Schwämme befindliche, schwammige od. saftige Substanz. Daher Parenchymariä, Markpflanzen.
