Phillyrin

Phillyrin, C54 H34 O22 +3 Aq., eine in der Rinde von Phillyrea enthaltene gepaarte Zuckerart, dem Salicin u. Phloridzin ähnlich; es ist krystallinisch, in heißem Wasser u. Alkohol löslich, fast geschmacklos, Säuren spalten es in Zucker u. Phillygenin, C42 H24 O12, das letztere ist ein weißes Harz, leicht krystallisirbar, in Wasser fast unlöslich, es ist dem Saligenin polymer.
