Concan, Landschaft in Ostindien, ein schmaler Küstenstrich, der sich zwischen dem Meer u. dem Hauptrücken der westlichen Ghats über 70 Meilen weit, von Sawuntwarree nach Süden bis zum Daman, dem Grenzfluß des portugiesischen Gebiets von Goa, erstreckt, nur in den Thälern der zahlreichen, fischreichen Bergflüsse fruchtbares Land besitzt, aber in den Dschungles viele Tiger u. gefährliche Schlangen hegt. Das Land ist reich an warmen Mineralquellen; es bildet die 2 Collectorate Tannah u. Rutnaghery; die wichtigsten Plätze an der Küste sind: Junjera, Rutnagheriah, Viziadroog u. Vingorla. Die Bewohner sprechen einen stark abweichenden Dialekt des Mahrattischen.
