Fontējus, Marcus, war erst Quästor, dann Legat in Spanien u. 77–75 v. Chr. Proprätor im Narbonensischen Gallien; hier hatte er sich schwerer Erpressungen schuldig gemacht u. wurde deshalb im Rom verklagt, aber von Cicero in einer (in Fragmenten) noch vorhandenen Rede (pro Fontejo) 70 v. Chr. vertheidigt.
