Halycus

Halycus (a. Geogr.), zwei Flüsse auf der Südseite von Sicilien, der größere östliche entsprang auf den Nebrodes u. mündete bei Heraclea Minor, jetzt Platani; der kleinere, westliche, mündete bei Megara, jetzt Delia od. Arena. Der eine war seit Timoleons Zeit die Grenze zwischen dem Gebiet der freien Sicilier u. den Carthagischen Besitzungen.
