Pelagonĭa

Pelagonĭa (a. Geogr.), 1) früher der nördliche Theil von Macedonien (so v.w. Päonia), später nur der südwestliche neben Lynkestis; er war genannt nach den Pelagŏnes, welche ursprünglich im Axiosthale wohnten u. sich später nach dem Erigon zogen; j. die Districte Bitolia u. Perlipe; 2) Stadt darin, so v.w. Heraklea 8); 3) P. Tripolis, die drei Städte Azoron, Pythion u. Doliche, südlich vom Vor., in Perrhäbia, an der Westseite des Olympos.
