Sclerotĭum

Sclerotĭum (S. Pers.), Pflanzengattung aus der Familie der Gasteromycetes-Sclerotiacei-Sclerotiei; rundliche, knorpelige, meistens kornförmige Pilze, ohne erkennbare Samen, von einem dünnen, nicht abgehenden Häutchen umgeben; wachsen zum Theil in lebendigen Pflanzenstängeln, andere brechen aus der Oberhaut hervor, andere sind darauf angewachsen, noch andere ganz frei. Fries theilt die zahlreichen Arten in vier Untergattungen: Liberia. Erumpentia, Adnata, Xyloma. Manche gleichen ganz den Pflanzensamen des S. semen, in dem Marke u. auf den Blättern des in den Kellern eingeschlagenen Kohls, welcher sonst für wirklicher Kohlsamen gehalten wurde. S. clavus, ist Spermoedia clavus, s.d. unter Mutterkorn.
