Synaxarĭa

Synaxarĭa (gr.), in der alten Kirche die ausführlichen Lebensbeschreibungen der Märtyrer (lat. Passionalia) u. Heiligen (lat. Legenda), welche bei den religiösen Versammlungen (Synaxis) vorgelesen wurden; vgl. Martyrologium. Die Griechische Kirche hat noch solche abgekürzte S. für die bedeutenden Feste, z.B. die S. des Nikephoros Kallistos, neugriechisch von Matthäos Kigale, Ven. 1639.
