Timonĭon, 1) Haus, welches sich Antonius auf einer Insel bei Alexandria erbauen ließ u. daselbst wohnte, als er von Augustus gestürzt war; weil er dort fern von Menschen lebte, gleich dem Athener Timon (s.d. 1), so nannte er jenes Haus also; 2) daher so v.w. Schmollwinkel.
