Tyndal, Wilhelm, geb. um 1477 in Gloucestershire, mußte, weil er ein Anhänger Luthers war, 1523 aus England fliehen, lebte eine Zeit lang in Wittenberg, dann in Antwerpen, wo er auf englische Veranlassung gefangen, in Vilvoord 1536 erdrosselt u. seine Leiche verbrannt wurde. Er übersetzte 1525 das Neue Testament u. 1530 den Pentateuch ins Englische. Seine Flugschriften erschienen gesammelt, Lond. 1573.
