Konstantas

Konstantas, Gregorius, geb. um 1753 in Miliä in Thessalien, studirte in Bukarest, später in Wien, Halle u. Padua, war Lehrer in Bukarest, Ampelakia u. Millä. Nach der Erhebung Griechenlands betheiligte er sich an den einzelnen Congressen u. an der Leitung des öffentlichen Unterrichtswesens 1822–28,. Unter Kapodistrias stand er dem Waisenhause in Ägina vor, sah sich aber später unter der baierischen Regentschaft genöthigt, Griechenland zu verlassen u. nach seiner Heimath zurückzukehren, wo er 1844 st. Er schr. mit Daniel Philippidis eine Geographie von Griechenland, Wien 1791, u. übersetzte die Anfangsgründe der Philosophie von Soave (Venedig 1804, 4 Thle.), so wie die Anfangsgründe der allgemeinen Geschichte von Millot, 1806, 2 Bde.
