Pacchiarotto

Pacchiarotto (spr. Pakkiarotto), Jacopo, geb. vor 1500 in Siena, Maler, nach Perugino u. Rafael gebildet, gehört zu den ersten Meistern der Schule von Siena Er ließ sich um 1535 in eine Verschwörung gegen die Regierung ein, wurde verfolgt u. eine Zeit lang von Observantenmönchen in einem [545] Grabe versteckt gehalten, bis er Gelegenheit fand, nach Frankreich zu entfliehen, wo er starb. Hauptwerke in Fresco: Die Legende der Sta. Katharina in S. Caterina zu Siena, Geburt u. Verkündigung Marias in S. Bernardino daselbst.
