Croll, 1) Oswald, geb. um 1580 zu Wetter in Oberhessen, Fürstlich Anhaltscher Leibarzt, st. 1609; er war Anhänger des Paracelsus u. schr.: Basilica chymica, Frkf. 1608, Genf 1658 (deutsch 1628, auch 1647), enthält mehrere nach ihm genannte chemisch-pharmaceutische Zubereitungen, als: Elixir uterinum Crollii, Extractum panchymagogum Crollii, deren Ruf sich lange erhalten hat. Er schr. ferner: Tractatus de signaturis rerum internis, Lpz. 1634; Crollius redivivus, od. Hermetischer Wunderbaum, Frkf. 1630, 1647. 2) Georg Christian, geb. 1728 in Zweibrücken; wurde 1754 Professor u. 1767 Rector des Gymnasiums daselbst u. st. 1790. Er ist einer der Stifter der Zweibrückener Gesellschaft zur Herausgabe klassischer Autoren; er gab den Vell. Paterculus, Sallustius, Terentius, Tacitus u. m. a. heraus u. schr.: Origines bipontinae, Zweibr. 1757–69, 2 Bde.; De illustri olim bibliotheca ducali bipont., ebd. 1739 u.a.
