Phintĭas, 1) Quell bei Syrakus auf Sicilien, auf welchem die schwersten Körper schwammen; 2) kleine feste Stadt in Sicilien, angelegt von dem Tyrannen Phintias u. später von dem östlich daran liegenden Gela aus colonisirt; am j. Flusse Finzina.
