Tisĭas

Tisĭas, 1) Dichter, so v.w. Stesichoros; 2) griechischer Rhetor, geb. auf Sicilien, lebte gegen 406 v. Chr.; er soll die Redekunst theoretisch begründet haben. Den Gorgias Leontinus begleitete er auf einer Reise nach Athen u. dort hörte ihn Isokrates. Vgl. Leonh. Spengel, De Tisia rhetore, in dessen Συναγωγὴ τεχνῶν, Stuttg. 1828.
