Aruns

Aruns, etruskischer Name, scheint von den jüngeren Söhnen eines Edeln geführt worden zu sein, während der erste Cars hieß. Er kommt schon früh vor: 1) A., Mörder der Camilla, Königin der Volscer; wurde im Kriege des Äneas mit Turnus von Opis getödtet. Nachmals in Rom in den, aus Etrurien stammenden Familien, bes. der Tarquinier, so: 2) Bruder des Tarquinius Priscus; 3) Bruder u. 4) Sohn des Tarquinius Superbus. Auch später noch in Etrurien, so: 5) Sohn Porsenas, fiel bei der Belagerung von Aricia 508 v. Chr.; 6) ein Clusiner, der, durch einen Landsmann beleidigt, zu den Galliern 388 v. Chr. ging u. dieselben zu dem Einfalle in Italien reizte.
