Casotti

Casotti, Giamb., geb. 1669 in Prato, ging als Gesandtschaftssecretär nach Paris, wurde dann Rector des adeligen Collegiums, später Professor der Geschichte an der Universität zu Florenz. Er begleitete den nachmaligen Kurfürsten Friedrich August von Sachsen als dessen Lehrer auf seiner Reise durch Italien; wurde 1720 Canonikus in Prato, 1726 Pfarrer bei Florenz u. st. als solcher 1737. Er schr. u.a. Notizie stor. intorno alla vita e alla nuova edizione delle opere di Giov. della Casa in der von ihm besorgten Ausgabe von dessen Werken, Flor. 1707, 1728; Della fondazione de monastero di S. Francesco delli Scarioni di Napoli, Flor. 1722.
