Coordination (v. lat.), 1) Beiordnung, Zuordnung; Gesetz der C. od. Association (s.d.), nach welchem gewisse Nervenerscheinungen auf scheinbar entfernte Veranlassung hin zu Stande kommen, z.B. Niesen bei Reizung der Nasenschleimhaut etc.; 2) Gleichstellung, Gleichheit des Ranges; daher Coordiniren, neben einander, gleichstellen; so Coordinirte Begriffe, Begriffe, welche, neben einander gestellt, den Umfang eines dritten Begriffes ausmachen, z.B. Mann, Weib, zu dem Begriff Mensch; Coordinirte Gerichtsbehörden, Behörden, die im Range gleich od. einander doch nicht untergeordnet sind; Coordinirte Kreise, irgend 2 größte Kreise der Himmelskugel, welche gemeinschaftliche Pole haben, so z.B. der Äquator u. irgend ein Declinations- od. Abweichungskreis, die Ekliptik u. irgend ein Breitenkreis zusammen. Dann nennt man Rectascension u. Declination die Coordinaten in Bezug auf den Äquator, ferner Länge u. Breite Coordinaten in Bezug auf die Ekliptik etc. Coordinirte Sätze, Sätze, welche entweder von einander unabhängige, durch eine Conjunction verbundene Hauptsätze sind, od. Nebensätze, welche in gleicher Weise von einem Hauptsatze, nicht aber von einander abhängen.
