Melĕda (Melada), Insel im Adriatischen Meere, zum Kreise Ragusa des österreichischen Königreichs Dalmatien gehörig, 1,5 QM. mit 900 Ew.; wird durch den Kanal M. von Sabloncello getrennt, ist gebirgig, hat im Blatathal einen See mit schwefligem Wasser, welcher im Sommer bebaut wird, Reichthum an Wein, Öl, Südfrüchten, Korallen (bei Porto-Ingannatore); Viehzucht, Fischfang, Seidenbau, guten Ankerplatz. Hauptort: Balinopolje, Marktflecken.
