Vardalachos

Vardalachos, Constantin, geb. 1775 in Kairo von griechischen Eltern, erlangte seine wissenschaftliche Bildung theils in Alexandrien, theils in Padua, war früher Lehrer der Mathematik am Lyceum in Bukarest, 1815–18 für Physik, altgriechische Literatur u. Rhetorik am Gymnasium in Chios, dann in Odessa, von wo er 1830 nach Griechenland ging, aber auf der Fahrt von Syra nach Ägina Schiffbruch litt u. dabei ertrank. Er schr.: Φυσικὴ πειραματική Wien 1812; Ῥητορική, ebd. 1815; auch eine Grammatik der neugriechischen, sowie der altgriechischen Sprache, Odessa 1829.
