Sabelli, 1) Gesammtname der durch Auswanderungen aus dem Volke der Sabiner entstandenen Völkerschaften, welche in Mittel- u. Unteritalien zwischen Umbrien, Etrurien, Latium, dem Adriatischen Meere, Apulien u. Bruttium saßen u. zu den on zunäch st die im engern Verband mit einander stehenden Marser, Vestiner, Peligner u. Marruciner dann die Picentiner, Herniker u. bes. die Samniter gehörten von den Letzern gingen die Frentauer, Hirpiner u. Lukaner aus, u. aus der Vermischung der Sabiner mit den Oskern bildete sich das Volk der Campaner; s.d.a. und Sabiner; 2) bei den Römern so v.w. Samniter.
