Doulens (spr. Dulang), 1) Arrondissement im französischen Departement Somme, 141 QM., 58,000 Ew. in 3 Cantonen; 2) Hauptstadt desselben an der Grouche u. Authie, Citadelle, Hospital, Fabriken von Packleinwand, Handel mit Vieh, Getreide, Hanf, Ol, Leinwand; 3900 Ew. – D., ehemals den Grafen von Ponthieu gehörig, kam unter Ludwig VIII. durch den Vergleich von Chinon (1225) an die Krone; Karl VII. gab sie dem Herzog Philipp dem Guten von Burgund; 1463 kaufte sie Ludwig XI. wieder von Burgund; 1595 von den Spaniern genommen, wurde D. im Frieden 1598 an Frankreich zurückgegeben.
