West-Canada (Britisches Nordamerika) am Lorenzostrom, vom Ottawa-Kanal durchschnitten; Producte: Weizen, Roggen, Gerste, Hafer, Rindvieh, Pferde. Schweine, Schafe; Industrie in Eisen, Baumwolle, Wolle u. Leder; 47,000 Ew.; Hauptorte: Prescott (mit Fort Wellington) u. Brockville, welche durch Eisenbahn mit einander verbunden sind; 2) Hauptstadt der Grafschaft Fulton im Staate New York (Vereinigte Staaten), Bank, Akademie, 6 Kirchen; 6000 Ew. (einschließlich der Township); 3) Postort in der Grafschaft Cambria des Staates Pennsylvanien an der Mündung des Stony Creek in den Conemaugh River u. an der Pennsylvania Eisenbahn; von hier zweigt sich der Westarm des Pennsylvania Kanals nach Pittsburg ab; Handel; 2000 Ew.
